LỜI GIỚI THIỆU
Tài liệu này được biên soạn theo hướng mở rộng từ cấu trúc bài tập mẫu: mỗi Unit có phần lý thuyết trọng tâm, hệ thống bài tập theo chuyên đề và đáp án giải thích. Nội dung không sao chép bài đọc hay bài tập trong sách giáo khoa, mà được xây dựng mới để học sinh luyện tập sâu hơn theo chủ điểm của từng Unit.
Mỗi Unit được thiết kế theo 5 mảng chính: Vocabulary and Word Formation, Pronunciation, Grammar, Reading, Writing and Communication. So với mẫu một trang, phần luyện tập của mỗi Unit được mở rộng nhiều lần, có thêm lý thuyết, ví dụ, mẹo làm bài và đáp án chi tiết để giáo viên có thể dùng ngay trong dạy thêm, ôn tập hoặc giao bài về nhà.
Giáo viên có thể linh hoạt chia mỗi Unit thành 3 đến 5 buổi học: buổi 1 ôn lý thuyết và từ vựng, buổi 2 luyện ngữ pháp, buổi 3 luyện đọc - viết, buổi 4 chữa đáp án, buổi 5 kiểm tra ngắn hoặc thuyết trình.

Mục tiêu: Ôn tập và mở rộng chủ điểm Local Community, phát triển từ vựng về community helpers; traditional handicrafts; places of interest, luyện Vowel revision: /æ/, /ɑː/, /e/, nắm vững Question words before to-infinitives; phrasal verbs.

2. Grammar
Question word + to-infinitive dùng để diễn đạt điều chưa biết hoặc cần quyết định: what to do, where to go, how to solve the problem, who to ask, when to leave. Cấu trúc thường đứng sau các động từ như know, decide, wonder, ask, explain, tell.
Ví dụ: I don't know how to get to the community house. / She asked where to buy traditional handicrafts.
Phrasal verbs cần học theo cụm nghĩa, không dịch từng từ: hand down = truyền lại; look around = tham quan; get on with = hòa hợp; take care of = chăm sóc; run out of = cạn kiệt.
3. Pronunciation and useful tips
Pronunciation focus: Vowel revision: /æ/, /ɑː/, /e/. Khi luyện phát âm, học sinh nên đọc thành tiếng từng cặp từ, gạch chân âm trọng tâm, sau đó đặt từ vào câu ngắn để luyện nhịp và ngữ điệu tự nhiên.
Mẹo học: học theo cụm từ, đặt câu cá nhân hóa, tự ghi âm 30 giây và so sánh với mẫu đọc của giáo viên hoặc từ điển phát âm.
