UNIT 9: SUMMER TIME!

I./ OBJECTIVE:

1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to talk about favorite

activities.

b. Grammar: Question “What do you do at the beach?” and answer “I….”

a. Vocabulary: Play the piano, play the guitar, ride a bike, throw a ball, hit a

ball, take a picture, fly a kite, go fishing, swim in the sea, play football, play

basketball, play tennis, play table tennis, collect shells

1. Warm up ( 5 ms)

Aim: To attract Ss’ attention to the lesson and lead in the lesson

Warm up.

Greet the class saying Hello. Then greet

a few individual students saying Hello.

My favorite subject is (English). What’s

your favorite subject? Do you like

(English)? Elicit a reply. Then students

can practice the conversation with their

classmates.

2.1 Presentation - Practice ( 15 ms)

Part 1: Listen and point then talk

Aim: Students can talk about their favorite activities .

1. Introduce the new words. Use pictures

or flash cards to introduce some

activities. Continue until students can

produce the words on their own the

words.

2. Play the Class CD. Track 17. Students

listen, point and say along with the CD

3. Guide students to practice these words

by pointing to the pictures and name

some activities.

4. Introduce the pattern.

“What do you do at the beach?”

“I….”

Then students practice the pattern.

Aim: Ss listen and write the sentences.

1. Direct students’ attention to Listen and

write section.

2. Play the Class CD. Track 18. Students

listen and write the sentences.

3. Ask some students write the answers

then correct.

I collect shells.

2. What do you do in the garden?

I ride a bike.

3. What do you do at the park?

I fly a kite.

4. What do you do at the river?

I go fishing.

3. More practice ( 5ms)

Games: Telephone

Games and activities:

Have the class form one line. Whisper a

different sentence to the student at each

end. Students whisper the sentences

along the line. No repeating allowed.

When the sentences reach the end, have

the students on the end say the sentences.

4. Out come and Homework (5ms)

Aims: SS will write down a story about their favorite activities when they spend their

summer with their families.
