UNIT 18: WHAT SHOULD I DO?
I./ OBJECTIVE:
1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to listen, write and
practise some of the structures, vocabulary on giving advice
2. Ability needed

- Skills: Ss will be able to practise some of the structures, vocabulary on giving
advice. Talk, listen and write about giving advice correctly.
3. Attitude: - Students can talk about about places.

II. TEACHING AIDS AND TECHNIQUES
1. Teacher: Textbooks, computer accessed to the Internet, projector
2. Students: Textbooks.
III. PROCEDURE
1. Checking: During the lesson
2. New lesson:
a. Vocabulary: bed, computer, doctor, phone, animal, fruit, sick, tennis
b. Grammar: Questions words / Present simple

Warm up ( 5 ms)
Aim: To attract Ss’ attention to the lesson and lead in the lesson
Warm up.
Greet the class. Play a vocabulary game.
Put students in groups of four, take turn
miming feelings/ sickness for their
partners to guess.

2.1 Presentation - Practice ( 15 ms)
Part 1: Listen and write
1. Introduce the new words using
explanations, pictures, examples…Let
the students read through the words.
Teacher checks the meanings and
pronunciation to make sure the students
understand and pronounce the words
correctly.
2. Ask students to read the sentences and
give some suitable words.
3. Play the Class CD. Track 37. Students
listen and write.
4. Check answers with the class.

Good afternoon, and welcome to Green
School. First, let me tell you about the
school. On the first floor, there are 20
classrooms. You can read books at the
library or you and you can keep them for
two weeks. You can’t borrow Japanese
CDs.

use
them
in
the
library. On the third floor, there is a
small computer room for all the students.
There
are
30
computers
in
it.
In
the
basement, there is a small canteen and
you can lunch there. You will like our
sports center because you can play many
kinds of games there.
4. More practice (5ms)
Class interview. Using the language that they have learnt today
- Sum up the main content of the lesson.
- Students will interview their family
members, note down the problems and
give advice.
- Prepare Unit 19.
