2.1 Presentation - Practice ( 15 ms)
Part 1: Listen and write
1. Introduce the new words using
explanations, pictures, examples…Let
the students read through the words.
Teacher checks the meanings to make
sure the students understand.
2. Let the students guess the words in
the blanks.
3. Play the Class CD. Track 34. Students
listen and write.
4. Ask the students tell their answer and
give feedback.

Dear Maria,
I’m not lucky this morning. I play tennis
and I fall down on the ground. Mum
takes me to hospital by an ambulance.
The doctor says I broke my arm and I
must stay at home for 2 weeks. I’m lying
in bed but I can’t finish my homework.
Can you send me some comics because I
have nothing to do today.

Woman: How far is the nearest mall!
Man: Well, Johnson’s is the best one but
that’s nearly five ten away.
Woman: Isn’t there one nearer?
Man: Well, there is one three kilometers
away but it’s not very good.
4. More practice (5ms)
Students write five sentences about unlucky things happen to them. Their friends
guess whether the sentences are true or false.
