UNIT 15: MY HOBBIES!

I./ OBJECTIVE:

1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to talk about activities

and hobbies.

2. Ability needed

- Skills: Ss will be able to talk about activities and hobbies. Talk, listen and

write about activities and hobbies correctly.

3. Attitude: - Students can talk about places.

1. Teacher: Textbooks, computer accessed to the Internet, projector

2. Students: Textbooks.

III. PROCEDURE

1. Checking: During the lesson

2. New lesson:

a. Vocabulary: Read emails, surf the web, go sailing, play volleyball, go

sailing, play volleyball, go fishing, go swimming, ride a bike, go trekking.

b. Grammar: Simple past question “What do you usually do at weekends?”

and answer “I usually…….”

1. Warm up ( 5 ms)

Aim: To attract Ss’ attention to the lesson and lead in the lesson

Warm up.

Greet the class. Students greet their

classmates and ask, Hi. What did you do

last night?

2.1 Presentation - Practice ( 15 ms)

Part 1: Listen and point then talk

Aim: Students can talk about activities and hobbies .

1. Introduce the new words. Use pictures

or flash cards to introduce some

activities and hobbies. Continue until

students can produce the words on their

own the words.

2. Play the Class CD. Track 29. Students

listen, point and say along with the CD

3. Guide students to practice these words

by pointing to some activities and

hobbies .

4. Introduce the pattern.

“What do you usually do at weekends?”

I usually…….”

Then students practice the pattern.

then correct.

Games: Station Stop

Games and activities:

Make a train “track” around the room,

with several “stations.” Students form a

line and move like a train along the truck.

You play the role of the Station Master.

The train must stop when it comes into a

station. At that time, choose a student

and practice the pattern with the student.

If the student does successfully. Give

him/her a “ticket”. The student with the

most tickets at the end wins.
